KYRGYZ STATE MEDICAL ACADEMY

ABOUT THE CITY BISHKEK
The capital of Kyrgyzstan is Bishkek which borders Central Asia's Tian Shan range. It is known as the gateway to the Kyrgyz Ala-Too mountains and AlaArcha National Park, with glaciers and wildlife trails. The monumental State Museum of Fine Arts and the colonnaded Opera and Ballet Theater are the city’s art scene. Honoring the hero of the Kyrgyz Epic of Manas, the vast central Ala-Too square features the Manas monument.
Bishkek is laid out on a grid with wide tree-lined streets which has parks and many orchards. To the south of Bishkek permanently snow-capped mountains are visible. There are theatres, the local Academy of Sciences which was founded in 1954, the Kyrgyz State University founded in 1951, agricultural, medical, polytechnic, and teacher-training institutes besides various government buildings.
Until 1941, the city’s industry developed in two stages. Emphasis was on the food and other light industries using local raw materials. An extensive machine-building and metal working industry came into being after the evacuation of heavy industries from western Russia during World War II. Development was particularly rapid in the 1960s. Bishkek is the most populated city in Kyrgyzstan, the Population was about 794,300 according to 2008 census. Its population, estimated in 2015 was 937,400. Bishkek is situated at an altitude of about 800 meters (2,600 ft), just off the northern fringe of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too range, an extension of the Tian Shan mountain range. These mountains rise to a height of about 4,855 meters (15,928 ft) and provide a backdrop to the city.
A fertile and gently undulating steppe extends far north into neighboring Kazakhstan to the north of the city. Most of the area is drained by the Chui river. Bishkek is connected to the Turkestan-Siberia Railway by a spur line. Bishkek is a city of wide boulevards and marble-faced public buildings combined with numerous Soviet-style apartment blocks surrounding interior courtyards. Thousands of smaller privately built houses, Streets following a grid pattern with most flanked on both sides by narrow irrigation channels is mostly outside the city centre, watering innumerable trees to provide shade in the hot summers.
From the foundation of the city to the mid-1990s, ethnic Russians and other peoples of European descents like Ukrainians & Germans comprised the majority of the city's population. The ethnic Kyrgyz were only 12.3% according to the 1970 census, while Europeans comprised more than 80% of Frunze population. Now Bishkek is a predominantly Kyrgyz city, with around 66% of its residents Kyrgyz, while European peoples make up less than 20% of the population. Russian is the main language while Kyrgyz continues losing ground especially among the younger generations.
ABOUT THE CLIMATE
Bishkek has both continental and mediterranean climate depending which isotherm would be used. Average precipitation is around 440 millimetres per year. Average daily high temperatures in January range from 3 °C (37.4 °F) to about 31 °C (87.8 °F) during July. The summer months are dominated by dry periods and punctuated by the occasional thunderstorm, which produces strong gusty winds and rare dust storms. The mountains to the south provide a natural boundary and protection from much of the damaging weather, as does the smaller mountain chain which runs north-west to south-east. Sparse snow storms and frequent heavy fog are the dominating features in the winter months. Sometimes the fog can last for days at a time due to temperature inversions.
Bishkek uses the Kyrgyzstan currency, the som. The economy in Bishkek is primarily agricultural, and these products are usually bartered in the outlying regions. The streets of Bishkek are regularly lined with produce vendors in a market style venue. There is a more urban cityscape with banks, stores, markets and malls in most of the downtown area. Hand-crafted artisan pieces, such as statues, carvings, paintings and many nature-based sculptures are some of the sought after goods in Bishkek.
Buses, electric trolley buses, and public vans are the public transportation used in Bishkek. The first bus and trolley bus services in Bishkek were introduced in 1934 and 1951, respectively. Taxi cabs can be found throughout the city.
MAP LOCATION
The city is served by Manas International Airport located approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) northwest of the city centre, and readily reachable by taxi.

NEET compulsion for MBBS in Abroad

Qualifying the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is mandatory for students seeking to pursue MBBS courses from foreign medical institutions, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has declared via a public notice on March 8, 2018.
The information, which had already been made public earlier by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) during the time of the release of the NEET notification in February 2018, has now been officially confirmed through the MCI notice. As per the MCI, the existing practice of issuing eligibility certificate to candidates desirous of pursuing MBBS abroad will be done away with from June 1, 2018, onwards and the result of NEET will be treated as the new eligibility certificate from thereon.
The notification clarifies that the new rule has been introduced by the MCI with approval from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The ‘Screening Tests Regulations 2002’ and ‘Eligibility Requirement for Taking Admissions in an undergraduate medical course in Foreign Medical Institution Regulation, 2002’, which lay down the rules and regulations for candidates seeking to pursue or who already possess MBBS qualification from abroad, have been accordingly amended by the MCI.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the exam conducting body of NEET 2018, has published the MCI notice on its website on March 10, 2018, for the reference of NEET 2018 aspirants.
What Does MCI Notice Regarding NEET state: -?
“Public at large is hereby informed that in terms of Clause 4(2A) of the ‘Screening Test Regulation, 2002’ and Clause 8(iv) of the ‘Eligibility Requirement for Taking Admission in an undergraduate medical course in a Foreign Medical Institution Regulation, 2002’, an India National/Overseas Citizen of India who are desirous for taking admission in MBBS or its equivalent medical course in a medical University/College/Institute outside the country on or after 1st June, 2018 shall have to mandatorily qualify the NEET,” the notice reads. The notice further informs that “the requirement of Eligibility Certificate in respect of such person(s) who would take admission in MBBS or equivalent medical course in a medical university outside the country on or after 1st June, 2018, has been dispensed off. The result of the NEET for admission to MBBS Course shall deem to be treated as Eligibility Certificate for such persons.”
NEET Qualification certificate is the new 'eligibility certificate' for students dreaming of MBBS abroad
As per the previous MCI regulations, candidates seeking to study MBBS or equivalent medical courses from abroad were required to obtain an eligibility certificate from MCI if they wished to come back to India for practicing medicine. No candidate without an eligibility certificate from MCI was allowed to appear for Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) screening test through which Indian nationals with foreign medical qualfications are granted permission to practice in India.
Now, with the introduction of new changes in MCI regulations, the earlier requirement of obtaining eligibility certificate has been dispensed off and NEET qualification status will be treated as the MCI eligibility certificate for a student seeking admission in MBBS abroad.
What are NEW REGULATIONS of MEDICAL COUNCIL OF INDIA
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) earlier clarified that this new rule of mandatorily qualifying NEET for admission to MBBS courses in abroad is not applicable to students who are already pursuing MBBS or equivalent degrees from outside India. “Students who have already taken admission under current regulations to pursue primary medical course by taking Eligibility Certificate from MCI are exempted from qualifying NEET”, stated the clarification note released by MoHFW on February 22, 2018.
The new MCI regulations making NEET mandatory for pursuing MBBS abroad will only be applicable to students seeking to pursue MBBS or equivalent qualification from abroad on or after June 1, 2018. Students who are already pursuing or have gotten admission in foreign medical institutions need not worry about qualifying NEET as long as they have the eligibility certificate issued by MCI.
