A doctor’s life is not as easy as they have to deal with many patients with varying diseases. Using their expertise, they try to save as many lives as possible. They must work around the clock to ensure that patients get treatment. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is the most popular and designated degree of doctors. These are the two bachelor degrees in one domain as the Bachelor of Medicine and the Bachelor of Surgery. This tradition is followed United Kingdom and many other universities around the world. It is the only bachelor degree that makes the students eligible to carry the term “doctor” with their name. The MBBS is an undergraduate degree programme in medical field. It takes the duration of 5.5 years for the completion of the degree. This course is now in heavy demand by the students after 12th. MBBS or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is a 4 year 5 months undergraduate degree allowing you to pursue your career in Doctor’s field. This course is followed by a 1 year mandate internship in the field of surgery, medicines and hospitals.You must possess a minimum of 50% in 10+2 from a recognised board with physics, chemistry, biology/zoology and english as mandatory subjects. You can gain an overview of anatomy, paediatrics, biochemistry and many other subjects during the whole course.

To get into good MBBS colleges you need to appear for entrance exam like NEET and other college exams. Earlier AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS exams were one of the source to get admissions in AIIMS institute and JIPMER college respectively but now both these exams have been replaced by NEET examination. This left you with no option other than appearing for NEET. You cannot opt for MBBS from distance learning mode. To get admission into MBBS programme in India, students have to complete their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry & Biology and score minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of reserved category). Student’s age should be between 17 years to 25 years.

COURSE & DURATION

The MBBS is a 5.5 year (4.5 years academic education + 1 year mandatory internship) UG degree programme leading to the two degrees as Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

• Repeaters Program

     One year full time program for students who have completed their 12th class and planning to have a repeat appearance for Medical Entrance. Classes commence immediately after NEET results.

• Long Term Program

     Starts after 10th results are published & the student joins for 11th classes

• Short Term Program

     Starts immediately after 11th classes close in March for vacations

• Crash Program

     Starts immediately after 12th Board Examinations

• Offered to only those who are interested in the three subjects Physics, Chemistry & Biology and those who have the right skills and willing to do work hard need apply for this course. This helps in preparing for NEET UG, Kerala Medical Entrance, AFMC & other medical educational institutions.

• For both Long Term and Short Term Program, the entire topics of Class XI & XII are being taught.
