Previously, Veterinary Council of India conducts All India Pre Veterinary Test (AIPVT 2020) for admission to Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & AH). It was the examination of 3 hours duration and contains 180 objective type questions from PCB group. From the year 2017, this exam has been scraped by NEET 2020. So candidates have to qualify NEET exam to get admission in Veterinary courses.All veterinary colleges doesn’t require bachelor’s degree for admission. Some of them requires a fixed number of undergraduate credit hours and pre-veterinary courses in organic chemistry, zoology, biology and physiology.
The duration of this course including Animal Husbandry is of 5 years (including internship) like in Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner, Rajendra Agricultural University, Samastipur and of 3 years without AH as in Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, National Research Centre on Mithun, Dimapur, Bombay Veterinary Science College, Mumbai. Although it is suggested to go for both B.V.Sc. and AH as it widens up the level of a veterinarian in terms of getting better job opportunities and experience.

is an undergraduate program in veterinary. Students who have passed 10+2 in the field of Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for this course. A person who is graduated in this course carry forwards the profession of a veterinarian.Veterinary medicine is the branch of Science that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, disorder and injury in non-human animals. The duration of this course is minimum of 3 years and maximum of 5 years.
